Bahay Kubo and Bahay na Bato

Bahay Kubo

What did you mean about Bahay Kubo? Bahay Kubo is an old shelter, were the people live. They build a Bahay Kubo to have a shelter. It is made in bamboo straps and nipa hut. Nowadays, seldom to see a house like a Bahay Kubo, because in this year all the things are had made a change. Lately our climate is not like in this year. The appearance of the Bahay Kubo, the first floor of the Bahay Kubo is elevated. So it is like second floor. The ground floor is the basement of the house. The other Bahay Kubo is easy to transfer to the other places, almost 20 people’s lifter to lift the house. They do that because of the disasters. In Metro Manila it is hard to see Bahay Kubo, if there’s a person had a confident or dignity in their self to build a Bahay Kubo in the residential area, I’m very proud of him. I’m not fright if the typhoon came and there Bahay Kubo is destroyed. It is not good to see a Bahay Kubo in residential area. Bahay Kubo it is good to build in province not in Manila. Think this, in the residential area. In the right there’s a modern house and in the left had a classic house. In the middle is the Bahay Kubo, so you can see it is not balance like a horoscope, logo of lira. Bahay Kubo is easy to burn. If the Bahay Kubo is burning their neighbour s will panic, because the Bahay Kubo is still burning. The houses of their neighbour will burn.  It is hard to control the fire of the house, because Bahay Kubo is made in Bamboo and nipa hut so it is easily to burn.

Modern Bahay Kubo

Modern Bahay Kubo is a house like our traditional Bahay Kubo. It is made in the Bamboo straps and nipa hut. The difference in the modern Bahay Kubo is the windows and the inside of the house. The windows of the modern Bahay Kubo are not like in our traditional Bahay Kubo. Modern Bahay Kubo is a upgraded of our traditional Bahay Kubo. In the modern Bahay Kubo they have living area, dining area, kitchen, bedrooms, master bedroom, porch, laundry area, toilet and bath, maid’s room, and lanai. So we can see while the year is past our economy is upgrading. We can build this in Metro Manila, in residential areas. Therefore it is good to see modern Bahay Kubo in the residential areas, because the Filipinos can’t forget where they come. Modern Bahay Kubo is hard to destroy. Where not build this for modernity. They build this for safeties of the family were live. The design consideration of the modern Bahay Kubo are natural lightning and ventilation, Filipino traditional, zoning, security, accessibility, functionality, sustainable, aesthetics, and practicality. It is affordable because of the materials they used.

Bahay na Bato

What did you mean about Bahay na Bato? Bahay na Bato it is kind of a shelter were the people leave. It is made in stone, the words itself stone. It is upgraded of the Bahay Kubo. Bahay naBato is better than Bahay na Kubo, because if the disaster came the Bahay na Bato is safe. It is hard to destroy because it is made pure stone. It is built era year of the war. So this is build for the safeties of the soldiers.

In the picture below, you can see the ground floor of the Bahay na Bato are made in the stone. The picture came in the Intramuros, me and my friends come in the Intramuros. It is a store of the antiques. The art of the Filipinos who’s make a history in our country. It is like museum. When you entered you feel you entered in the time machine.

They materials used is a stone not hallow blocks or concrete blocks the width of the stone is not same in the concrete block. It is double size of the concrete block. The concrete blocks are smooth. So if we smashed the concrete blocks it is crushed. If the pure stone will smashed, a little bit will crushed. The workers of the Bahay na Bato is smart, because if they used the concrete blocks for the walls. They’re wasting their money. If the soldier shoot a canon in the wall, the wall is easy to destroy. They used the stone for recycle. They think the result first before they build the house.

Bahay na Bato is nice, but there’s no ventilation. It is not hot, its cold in the inside of the Bahay na Bato, because the air outside go to inside of the house. The airs will not to go out, because there’s had no ventilation.

Similar of Bahay Kubo and Bahay na Bato

First the Bahay Kubo, the Bahay Kubo is made in the bamboo straps and nipa hut while the Bahay na Bato is made in stone. Bahay na Bato is fully ventilation. So, if theirs had a strong wind. The Bahay Kubo will shake. It is like earthquake. When the rains come, the inside of the house are wet, because the walls and foundation is not made in stones and plywood’s. It is made in nipa hut and bamboo strap.

When I was young, my family and I. Go to the province for vacation. New in my eyes, because it is not like in manila the walls and foundation are concrete block. In the Bahay Kubo is made in the bamboo straps. So when the midnight comes, it so cold and the Bahay Kubo is shaking because of the cars in the roads and the peoples walking in your front because we need go to the cr.

Bahay na Bato is made in pure stone. The walls and foundation are made in stone. Bahay na Bato is stronger than in Bahay Kubo. Bahay Kubo is easy to build than Bahay na Bato but it easy to destroy the Bahay Kubo. So can you imagine how’s the people they do that, they build a house for the safeties and security. In the Bahay Kubo, they easily entered the theft. But in Bahay na Bato is very secured.

What did you mean about sidewalk? Sidewalk this is the place whose the people were walk. A sidewalk is a very important feature that is seen throughout public places. Sidewalks lead to homes, buildings, shopping centers, car parks, and many other important areas. Sidewalks can also be used around residential homes leading to the entrance, throughout the garden, and along the side of your home. They are a necessity. Sidewalk that is featured throughout a public place will protect the public from oncoming traffic. Sidewalk can protect your gardens throughout your home. A sidewalk will not just protect your garden but it is also a place for people to walk and admire your gracious gardens. It can be used to enter your home. This will add beauty and enhance the front area of your home. Sidewalks can be featured throughout national parks. You can walk along a paved sidewalk without disturbing nature’s beauties and enjoy the serenity of surrounding areas.

Bry. Industrial Valley Complex

Sidewalk in Marikina City  (Baranggay Industrial Valley Complex)

In the picture below, you can see the sidewalk is almost 1 meter away from the main road. The sidewalk is useless because the sidewalk for the people is used to park their cars in the sidewalk. Even though, it is a residential house. It is not good to see car were placing in the sidewalks because, it can cause minor accidents and traffics. In the picture the sidewalk is not elevated because the main road is not widely. It is two ways only. And the house is small. If the sidewalk are elevated in Industrial Valley Complex are elevated, the flooring of the house will have water when the rains come. It’s good the sidewalk is not elevated in Industrial Valley Complex. The drainage in Industrial Valley Complex is placing at the middle of the main road. It is not placing at the sidewalk.

River Banks

Sidewalk in Marikina City (River Banks)

You can see in the picture below. The sidewalk is had a pink line or boundaries. Why it is have a pink line or boundaries? It means you’re only property is in the line. If you don’t follow in the pink line or boundaries you will arrest by MMDA. Even though it is not beautiful in the front of the house have a color pink line. It is a food station. They abuse the sidewalk so, MMDA had a plan to period there problems or solution there problem. They put some mark; it means that’s your property. It is effective.

Sidewalk with sleeping poor guy

You can see in the picture below there is a poor boy sleep in the sidewalk. It cause by the poverty. Nowadays, there lot of family they had no house, so they leave at the sidewalk. They companion the people always walking in the sidewalk. It is very challenging to leave in the sidewalk because you will meet you’re mortal enemies like air from the cars, when the rain drops, climate, the noisy in the population, the smell of the surroundings, wastes of peoples and etc. in the world, there’s lot of people they don’t had a house than they had house. They choice to leave in the sidewalk because it’s relaxing and don’t have any bills. The electricity and water is free, but it is hard to leave because you don’t have any privacy.

Sidewalk vendors in Marikina City

The sidewalk is not only for walking. It can be use to stall a store. The sidewalk vendors are used that space because for the advantages of the people. If you are walking and you spot the vendors you can buy the things what you want that have in the far places, less effort, less hazel, less haggard. But almost, all sidewalk vendors they had n business permit. So, if the catcher comes the sidewalk vendors are easy to get there thing and run faster. A vendor, or a supplier, is a supply chain management term meaning anyone who provides goods or services to a company. A vendor often manufactures inventorial items, and sells those items to a customer. Vendors may or may not function as distributors of goods. They may or may not function as manufacturers of goods. If vendors are also manufacturers, they may either build to stock or build to order. Vendor’ is often a generic term, used for suppliers of industries from retail sales to manufacturers to city organizations. ‘Vendor’ generally applies only to the immediate vendor, or the organization that is paid for the goods, rather than to the original manufacturer or the organization performing the service if it is different from the immediate supplier.

Sidewalk art

In the other places the sidewalk is used in art like in the picture that you can see. It’s like a realistic. To makes the sidewalk is beautiful. It is very common to see a sidewalk had no design or same the feature of the sidewalk. So, the artist had an idea to make it beautiful and unique.

The Parish of the Sacrifice

The Parish of the Sacrifice also the church of the Holy Sacrifice, is a landmark catholic chapel in the University of the Philippines Diliman or U.P. it belongs to the Roman Catholic diocese of cubao and its present parish priest is Rev. Fr. Raymond Joseph Arre.

Known for its architectural design of the church is a circular. The entrance of the church is don’t have a door. It is open area. Leandro Locsin is a designer of a church that was open and could easily accommodate 1000 people. The church of holy sacrifice is the first circular church with the altar in its center in the country and the first to have a thin shell concrete dome. When we entered in church it is very relaxing because of the fresh airs and the trees at the side of a church. You fell like in the heaven. When we look at the ceiling of the church is like a big hot air balloon. It’s like fall for you. The altar is place in the center of the church. The altar is rectangular not circular. The dome of the church is supported by pillars located at the sides of the church, so that there are no supports to block the space inside. The unique design of the dome allows natural lightning and ventilation. At the middle of the dome is circular skylight, which supports the triangular bell tower. The bell tower extends to the interior, supporting the sacrifice. The arrangement of the interior of the church is concentric, with the altar in the middle. The church is recognizing as a national historical institute and the national museum respectively. It was design by the late national artist for architecture Leandro Locsin, one of the five national artists who collaborate on the project. Alfredo Juino served as the structural engineer for the project. The floor of the church was designed by Arturo Luz. The floor of the church is very attractive, because the combination of the color of floor and the ceiling are matched. The station of the cross was art by Vicente Manansala and Kiuksok, and the double-side crucifix and altar base by Napoleon Abueva, all of whom are now national artist.

Being a pioneering building, it almost suffered a setback during the construction of the dome when the weather suddenly changed as the concrete was being poured. If it had rained, the concrete would have not settled, and the whole project would have been in jeopardy. The first mass in the church was celebrated on December 20, 1955. Since then, there have been modifications to the church and its surroundings. The gigantic dome, which used to be white, is now green. The altar base was also changed from wood to marble, still by Napoleon Abueva. Perhaps the most significant change is that the church is now fenced off, and the once open grounds that surrounded the church are now landscaped.

On January 12, 2005, the church was recognized as a National Historical Landmark and a Cultural Treasure by the National Historical Institute and the National Museum, respectively. During the recognition ceremony, National Historical Institute Chairman Ambeth R. Ocampo lauded the church as a “masterpiece of Filipino artistry and ingenuity”. Currently, the parish is spearheading a project that aims to restore the dome of the historic church.

Church of the Risen Lord

Church of the Risen Lord is a protestant church located at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and Quezon City. It arose about 50 years ago through a protestant student group named the Christian youth movement.

The church of the risen lord is a cone-shape that stands on concrete rings on the front and back, and angle piers at the side. The church of the risen lord also features a concrete shell roof. The time, curve like a piece of folded paper. When you look at the front of the church it is not obviously like a wedding church. When go to the inside, you will see have a red carpet, fully ventilated and fresh air, because of the trees outside of the church. The church front is a glass wall, allowing ligh to flood into the interior. As one enters the church, the cantilevers and the choir loft shields one from the reality of human limitation and attention is shifted to the floor plan defined by walls. The window of the church where block each other to grafting the polluted air. The chapel’s architect chose a parabola to define the external configuration of the structure as a reminder of the futility of man’s aspirations towards the attainment of a state of perfection outside of the Christian faith. The zoning of the church are very comfortable, because it is one straight way/path way. You will see it is doing have cross in the altar. Only two chairs. It is a protestant church.  Modern structure was designed by Cesar H. Concio, the much-respected Filipino architect responsible for the National Government Centre and several of the University’s buildings. Steep arches form the ribs of the sanctuary, with louvers for natural ventilation and wide glass panes for natural lighting. The simple, clean lines allow for a more austere impact. The building is a popular venue for weddings.

The Parish of the Sacrifice/Church of the Risen Lord

I fell in the two church when I’m entered my astral body are traveling and go out in my body. The similarities of that church are the religion only, because when you look at the outside of the church there’s lot of trees. I’m thinking the meaning of those trees in the side of the church, is to protect to the pollution or bad airs. In the Parish of the Sacrifice it is much ventilated, there are no doors. The smell of the trees and plants and trees in the surrounding, I like the smell of the trees you fell like in the province. It is same by Church of the Risen Lord. You feel like in the fell if you serve in those churches.

My Manifesto on Architecture

What is architecture? It is art and science of design and erecting buildings and other physical structures. Architecture means to often on render professional services in connection with the design construction of a building, on group of buildings and the space within the site surrounding the buildings that have as their principal purpose human occupancy on use. Understanding architecture means that, when one looks at a building, however complex it may be, one tries to visualize the relationship between the volumes that comprise it. Its means seeking to grasp the may its elements are interlinked, for it is this that determines the structure of every building. Above all it means going back to its plan. Viewing a building particularly if it is a complicated one without having previously seen a plan of it may convey on impression of chaos. The place seems to be courtyards, different levels, and so on. The artwork of architects is very meaningful. Because architects can express their emotion in drawing or express their passion to their artwork to makes realistic. Architects had own decision, it’s not depend on the design of other architect because if they copy the work of the other, they cannot call an artist.

The architect should be equipped with knowledge of many branches of study and varied kinds of learn, for it is by his judgment that all work done by the other art is put to test. This knowledge is the child of practice the theory. Practice is the continuous and regular exercise of employment where manual work is done with many necessary materials according to the design of a drawing. Theory, on the other hand, is the ability to demonstrate and explain the production of dexterity on the principles of proportion.

In production of architecture a major source of style is design process itself, and hence the heuristic reasoning processes involved play a central role. Style is usually attributed to a building according to its features. As shown is preceding section, these features, or final manifestation of a design process, are strongly determinate by the classes of heuristics adopted, their use and integration, and the sequence in which the overall process unfolds. It is not only the structure of the process that is important but also the object qualities of the models that are used.

Everyone wishing to understand the work of architecture. Then, must learn to discipline and read the plan, but what does this give him? It may reveal a wide variety of aspects depending on the type of organization adopted which in term detectives how strict the system will be. Only elevation and section can explain the passage from the plan to volume and space. Only elevation and section can explain the passage from the plan to volume and space. The step into the third dimension is important reading the plan, for it is this that gives a piece of architecture its identity.

Building is not a profession for the lone individualist. Writers, artists and to a certain extent composers and sculptors, can do most of their work alone in the studio, but architects depend on the cooperation of many other people/clients, construction, builders, engineers, officials, financing, experts and real estate agents. And if they want to communicate same special message with their work, they have to explain it to all concerned.

It’s good to be a control freak. Because the optic is the heart and soul every percolate architecture down light, we like to control the quality of our reflections ourselves. In like most other manufactures, percolates reflections are still hand spun and finished by experience craftsmen.

Improve an architecture business by proving a more complete may to think about buildings, from the design thought construction. With Autodesk, AutoCAD, Rivet, building software, design tears achieve superior documentation, more effective design coordination, and more. So client are happy, you get more repeat business, and you’re more profitable. Because it’s crated specifically for building information modeling, design buildings and work process with Rivet building can help you realize your idea to complete and win.

To make design of a building it is depend on: climate of the place/site, where it’s locate and etc. it is very important to know the information of the location. Because can you can estimate the place, if you’ rebuilding are located in the middle of the residential area, and you don’t know located. The design in you’re building are not to fit to your concepts, you’re design in the building can be use. You will not represent you’re main idea or not to show the meaning of your design.

In the Philippines, the architecture is a reflection of the history and heritage of the country. The architects in the Philippines are not like in the architects in the other country. But there lots of Pilipino architects in the other country are discovered. Like the bahay na bato it is the first house. While the year goes by the knowledge of the people are developing. So, they adopt their skills to build modern houses. In this era, the nipa hut or bahay kubo gave way to the Bahay na bato (stone house) and became the typical house of noble Filipinos. The Bahay na bato, the colonial Filipino house, followed the nipa hut’s arrangements such as open ventilation and elevated apartments. The most obvious difference between the two houses would be the materials that were used to build them. The bahay na bato was constructed out of brick and stone rather than the traditional bamboo materials. It is a mixture of native Filipino, Spanish and Chinese influences. Excellent preserved examples of these houses of the illustrious Filipinos can be admired in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. In Taal, Batangas, the main street is also lined with examples of the traditional Filipino homes. Bahay kubo mansion, In May 2008, National artist for architecture Francisco Mañosa, designer of the [[Coconut Palace, built his own two-storey Bahay Kubo mansion in Ayala Alabang Village, a wealthy suburb south of Manila. With only 3 posts or “haligi”, it has five one-inch coconut shell doors, a “silong” , Muslim room, sala, and master’s bedroom with a fish pond therein. Antipolo church, the image of “Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage” has been venerated in the church of Antipolo for centuries. The old church that housed the virgin was destroyed in February 1945 when the Americans bombed Antipolo as part of the liberation campaign of Manila. In 1954, a new church was built designed by the renowned Filipino architect Jose de Ocampo. This church is of a cupolaed design centered on the image of the Virgin. It functions as the center point of the pilgrimages to Antipolo. Intramuros is the old walled city of Manila located along the southern bank of the Pasig River. The historic city was home to centuries-old churches, schools, convents, government buildings and residences, the best collection of Spanish colonial architecture before much of it was destroyed by the bombs of World War II. Of all the buildings within the 67-acre city, only one building, the San Agustin Church, survived the war. Fort Santiago (Fuerza de Santiago) is a defense fortress established by Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi. The fort is the citadel of the walled city of Intramuros, in Manila, Philippines. The location of Fort Santiago was also once the site of the palace and kingdom of Rajah Suliman, chieftain of Manila of pre-Spanish era. It was destroyed by the conquistadors upon arriving in 1570, encountering several bloody battles with the Muslims and native Tagalogs. The Spaniards destroyed the native settlements and erected Fuerza de Santiago in 1571.Paco Park was planned as a municipal cemetery for the well-off and established aristocratic Spanish families who resided in the old Manila, or Intramuros. The cemetery is circular in shape, with an inner circular fort that was the original cemetery with niches on the hollow walls. As the population continued to grow, a similar second outer wall was built with the thick adobe hollow walls with niches, the top of the walls made into a walkway circumnavigating the park. A Roman Catholic chapel was built inside the inner walls, dedicated to St. Pancratius. The order of the Augustinians, Augustinian Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus of the Philippines, build many churches all over the Philippines. These magnificent structures can still be found all over the Philippine Islands. The San Agustin Church in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, is the most famous of these churches. This unique specimen of Filipino architecture from the Spanish area has been included in the World Heritage Sites List of the UNESCO. The church was built by the Augustinian friars from 1694 until 1710.It shows the earthquake proof baroque style architecture.San Agustín Church and Monastery, built between 1587 and 1606, is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, and the only building left intact after the destruction of Intramuros during the Battle of Manila (1945). The present structure is actually the third to stand on the site and has survived seven major earthquakes, as well as the wars in Manila. The church remains under the care of the Augustinians who founded it.The San Agustín Church lies inside the walled city of Intramuros located in the capital city Manila, Philippines. It is the first European stone church to be built in the Philippines designed in Spanish architectural structure. The church also houses the legacies of the Spanish conquistadors, Miguel López de Legazpi, Juan de Salcedo and Martín de Goiti who are buried and laid to rest in a tomb, underneath the church. The church has 14 side chapels and a trompe-l’oeil ceiling. Up in the choir loft are the hand-carved 17th-century seats of molave, a beautiful tropical hardwood. Adjacent to the church is a small museum run by the Augustinian order, featuring antique vestments, colonial furniture, and religious paintings and icons.Together with three other ancient churches in the country, it was designated as part of the World Heritage SiteBaroque Churches of the Philippines” in 1993. So, that you can see the Pilipino is very creativity.
